  • how to create a computer not in "Cmputer" folder?

    just wondewing, is it possible to configure that if an admin joins a new computer into the domain the defualt computer container will be ealse then the built in "Computer" folder?
    is it possible to have multi' defualt container dependng on the admin that creates/joins the computer accounts?

    Yes, you can redirect default OUs for users and computers using redirusr.exe and redircmp.exe .

    I don't think you can make it different for different admins.

    However, in most cases, an AD administrator (or helpdesk with delegated rights) should create the computer account under the right OU, and then the server's admin should join the domain.

      There will only be one default location but as Gepeto states, you can redirect new users and computers.

        yeah but creating the computer account before joining the the computer to the domain a lot of times creates a duplicate Computer accounts (CNF) since the creation of the account happens on one DC while joining the computer on another DC that doesn't know that the account was created and creates a new one , then boom I get a CNF or even worse 2 SNP's once the DC's replicate with each other.
        I am trying avoiding creating a comp' acc' b4 joining it to the domain

          To be fair every setup is different, if you are creating new machines in a certain site then you would get that site admin to create the accounts rather than, say, an admin at another site. They are different ways to the same end point.

            Different company sizes have different procedures as well.
            Bigger setups will usually have policies stating that the computer object must be created in advance etc..
