  • Exchange 2007 and Global Catalog servers

We are implementing Exchange 2007. We have a parent/child domain configuration. Both DC's in the parent domain are setup as GC's. Our 3 child domain DC's are also GC's. We constantly are receiving messages that the LDAP search time - sustained for 5 minutes - Red (>100msec) from any or all of the GC's. Does anyone have any information or links to good resources that could make a recommendation on how this really should be setup in a parent/child domain configuration? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

You can start by removing the GC role from the Infrastructure Master. Those two roles should not be together in a forest with more than one domain.

Thank you, we have already made this change. If anyone else has any good references that would be great. We are under the impression that Exchange should have dedicated GC's and be in it's own subnet as well, but again looking for good resources to support that configuration. If anyone has anything good, we are all ears. Thanks!
