  • Where is the time coming from?

We have setup DHCP scope options for "042 NTP Servers" to point to our local DC and remote DC for time sync.

When I log onto my WinXP SP2 workstation, which mind you has the same time as the DC +- 10 seconds, and run:

    NET TIME /QUERYSNTP

    I get:

    C:\>NET TIME /QUERYSNTP
The current SNTP value is: time.windows.com,0x1

    The command completed successfully.

    C:\>
But if I try to ping "time.windows.com" I get no reply because the ISA server is set to reject requests to this site.

Why is the time server not pointing to our DCs (Win2K3 SP1)?
