  • How can a PC recognise its membership of a new security group?

I've added a PC to a new security group. Is there a way of that PC recognising its membership of that group without having to reboot it?

(A similar question would be whether it's possible for a user to recognise its membership of a new security group without having to log off and back on.)

    Thanks.

for the user, you'd have to log out / in.

You still need to reboot as far as i'm aware.

As far as Microsoft statement, If any policy changes, you have reboot in case of Computer Policy and Logoff for User Policy.

        That's the way it is.

I thought so, but hoped otherwise.

          Thanks for the replies.
