  • deleted one site

    Hi,

    I'm new to this forums.

In our AD somebody has deleted one site that belongs to our child domain. can anybody help me how to add the site & replicate each other.

In the other site, there the replication is happening.

    Thanks
    RK

    Re: deleted one site

you should restore one of the DCs and run Authoritative restore for Configuration partition in DSRM mode

    CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=domainname

take backup set from the date earlier then site was deleted
    With best regards, Victor

      Re: deleted one site

      Hi,
      Thanks...
But unfortunately backup set is not available to restore. So what can we do, is there is any alternate.

      Regards

        Re: deleted one site

I hope that site was blank - without DCs,
it's not easy to delete site with objects
you should have domain admin rights of root domain to change site configuration

there is no alternative for data restore,
you should create site and assign subnets

PS. you have no any backup for any of dcs?
        With best regards, Victor

          Re: deleted one site

Actually we'll share the admin pwds. so there is possible to del.
The deleted one has two DCs.
I tried to add the site with subnet but unable to go for NTDS settings (how to set/add).

The day after the bkp completes we will overwrite the old. so we have only latest.
we will check the other DC's backup.

Thanks for ur patiency abt my queries.

            Re: deleted one site

If there were NTDS objects in the deleted site and those were deleted too (check if there is anything under LostAndFound container in the config partition) and you have no valid backups, you will have to force-dcpromo down the DCs whose NTDS objects were deleted, and re-promote the DCs back.

              Thanks,

After that we did, re-promoting the deleted DCs & now they are visible under sites .

              bye.
