  • Aen it wipes out the active directory issue with Migration

When we try and migrate a windows XP Pro user running ooutlook 2003 to the new domain with active directory, we just set up, everything migrates but the email data. And the users email, address book etc.

We can't seem to find anyone with any ideas as to what the heck is going on, or how to correct the issue.

Are you using Exchange? If so, the mailbox stays in the old domain

could you take the orphaned email account, export it to a .pst, and then reimport it?

or if the mailbox is on the same mailstore (or one in the org), just reconnect it to the new user...

It appears to erase the pst and pab. Our next move is setting up exchange 2003 server and getting everything set to bring email in house.

The current issue is that the domain is running, but I am not sure if it is us, that is causing this problem, or if it is the doimain migration software.

We tried a test on saturday and if there is nothing set up on a machine, meaning e-mail, and we migrate it to the doamin everything works fine and then a new user can login and set up email. But with 2 entries it does not migrate correctly.
        Thanks for the response
