      ip hunt

Ahh it's about time someone else played hunt the IP/PC for a change, if this is due to a conflict look in the logs to find the IP (it will say the IP and mac address of the conflicting address). Now the best part to actually find it!
Suppose you haven't done an inventory of all pc's serial and mac addresses then the best way is to remote into it if you have 2000 or above. If not \\pcname\c$\ which will bring up it's hard drive, from this look at doc's and settings and look at the profiles of the users then check against a telephone list, it isn't a science but you will get closer.

obviously I did an audit after this!

one other point, check it isn't 1gb network cards which are teamed, they can conflict or cause this, just update the drivers and all will be cool.
