  • Procedures for removing dead DC same as those for failed DCPROMO?

I have an entirely Win2k3 domain. I have a domain controller that is unrecoverable. It was not an operations master, DNS, or DHCP server. Of the three remaining DCs: one is Win2k3 SP2; two are Win2k3 SP1. Maybe I'm being overly cautious, but here are my questions:

1.) Any need to upgrade all to same level before proceeding?
2.) If I simply "delete" the dead DC from Sites & Services and from Users & Computers, is there still a need to NTSDUTIL?
3.) And if there is, what order should I do this?

    Thanks!

I think this should cover your situation just fine.
