    are there any GPO's to stop users downloading .exe files?
    Is there a GPO to empty the recycle bin and tempfiles etc on logoff?

    I've searched and I can't find any

    not as far as I know. but the correct place to do that is at your proxy server and not at the client side.

    you can use a logoff script in a GPO to do that.

        Squid - open source proxy server is free.
        If you have no idea about Linux, you might want to try the Windows version: http://www.acmeconsulting.it/pagine/.../squidnt25.htm , though it's lacking some features that have not been ported yet (like transparent proxy). It is best tot run squid on Linux.

        ISA is not the only proxy around, you know...
