  • Converting Container to OU

hi, I have a Container in AD which holds computer accounts.

Now i want to convert that container to OU (because some applications are not recognizing containers). Is it possible in anyway?

    Thanks,
    Charl

    Re: Converting Container to OU

If you're talking about the default computers container, no, you can't convert that to an OU. At least there is no way I know of to do it. Part of the reason it needs to stay put is that it is the default container for all new computer objects that are created in the domain.

What you should do is create a new OU structure for your domain and place the computers somewhere down in that OU structure.

You should do the same with Users.
