  • primery dns

i just installed new dc. when i did that i had 2 dns entries on the tcp/ip properties

    10.10.10.5 - lan

    194.90.1.5 - isp

nslookup will resolve only the isp dns. i want to change that and make 10.10.10.5
the primery dns. can it be done and how ?

    Puma95

I'm not near a 2003DC but try right clicking on 'My Network Places' and going to 'Properties'. Select 'Advance' and then 'Advanced settings'. Within the 'Adapters & Connections' tab under 'Connections' ensure 10.10.10.5 - lan is at the top and 194.90.1.5 - isp is after it.

Are you currently studying for 70-291?? - I had the same issue and it stumped me for a while

Let me know how you get on

    Thanks

      Re: primery dns

I've always put in the LAN DNS IPs and then configured DNS forwarders with the ISP -- less chance of trying to resolve internal names externally!
