  • Location of PC and Server Objects in AD

I have just installed WSUS 2 and all went well, i wanted a different GP applied to servers than PC's so i created a new OU for the servers and moved them in there.

Ever since then, these servers have not reported back to the WSUS server, as soon as i move them back to the "computers" folder in AD, all start reporting.

Any ideas why this happened, or can anyone advise how to apply different GP to servers/computers but keep them in the same default location.

    Regards

    Richard

in GPOE, what policies are applies and enforced?

is the default domain controller policy assigned to the newly created OU? is the new policy being applied after the default domain pollicy??
its easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

what i did was to let the default domain GP effect the computers in the default computers group and applied a separate GP to the servers OU ans blocked policy inheritance.
