    Hi all,

I have been trying to add users in my organisational unit "Adnan Users" by using dsadd comand. The problem I am facing is it wont let me do it. I can create user in default "users" organisational unit but when I try to put my user in OU Adnan users it doesnt work.

    when i use
    dsadd user cn = usersabc, cn=user,dc = abc, dc=local <-- it works
    but if i try
    dsadd user cn = usersabc, cn=Adnan Users,dc = abc, dc=local <-- it doesnt works

Is dsadd only let us to create users in default contrainers? help would be appreciated

    Re: Active directory commands

Are you using quotation marks (")around your DN?
    i.e.
    Code:
     dsadd user "cn = usersabc, cn=Adnan Users,dc = abc, dc=local"
This is because your OU has a space in the name.

It should work. Check and recheck your syntax. Make sure your user has the appropriate permissions. ("cn=" good, "cn =" bad)

          hi JeremyW,
thanks for your help. I even try to use dsadd comand to create user object in the container that doesn't got any space in its name. Still using ' or " does not work. Dsadd is working in default container but it is not working with my once. I am sending the comand prompt and Active directory screen shot. That would help you

              Re: Active directory commands

              C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.GOODIE>dsadd user cn=zX,cn=AdnanUsers,dc=
              adnan,dc=local
              dsadd failed:cn=z,cn=AdnanUsers,dc=adnan,dc=localirectory object not found.
This fails because it cannot find adnanusers as it is Adnan Users.

              It should be

              C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.GOODIE>dsadd user "cn=zX,cn=Adnan Users,dc=adnan,dc=local"
In fact looking at them all you should be using the above syntax to add all your users.
