  • Renamed the domain . . .

I renamed the domain from asbad.local to asbad.us. All of the steps for AD and Exchange went fine. Ran a vbs from Microsoft to update the domain controller names. All seems well. The computer names changed, and everything in DNS looks good. When running netdiag I get a DNS failure:

I have been all through DNS and all of the subfolders in DNS. The DC names are updated correctly. Any ideas why netdiag would fail? Netdiag/fix also fails the same section. I can post if anone wants that. Thanks so much.

    Re: Renamed the domain . . .

Have you running "ipconfig /registerdns" on all servers. I know you said it's configured correctly but it wouldn't hurt just to make sure.

Yes, I have done ipconfig/flushdns, ipconfig/registerdns and stopped/restarted netlogon on each DC but the same error keeps occuring.

        Re: Renamed the domain . . .

Before performing the rename, have you created "asbad.us" forward lookup zone in the DNS ?
Do you have dynamic updates enabled for that zone ?
        Is it AD integrated ?

What is the value of the dnsHostName attribute of DC's computer object ? (you can use adsiedit to look at it)
Does it have the old suffix ?
