  • SQL 2008 Transaction Logs (3rd party software application)

    Hello -

We ran into an interesting issue where one of my tables just "Lost" data. It was non critical, but the implications are very worrisome. Obviously we are tightening security in the tables and double checking the stored procedures, etc.

Is there an application (non trigger) that exists that can give me a GUI interface to show everything that was changed with who and when?

    Example:
I want to see everything that has changed for table "Widgets" via a date range it would show something similar to:
    Action | Widget-ID | Name | Valid Until | Modified by | Modified Date/Time
    ADD | 1 | Screw | 12/15/2012 | user1 | 1/1/11 12:00:00PM
    UPDATE| 1 | Screws | 12/15/2012 | user2 | 3/8/11 10:15:00PM
    DELETE| 1 | Screws | 12/15/2012 | user2 | 7/2/11 8:15:00PM
    Perhaps by reading Logs, etc??

I did find a software called ApexSQL, but I am curious if anyone here has any experience with a solution.

    Thanks!
    Hobie
