  • error message when you create or import a rule in Outlook

Hi, I want to create a rule on my Outlook 2003 and after creating it, it doesn't activate. It gives the error: "One or more rules could not be uploaded to Exchange server and been deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported or there is insufficent space to store all of your rules."
I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 and Outlook 2003 SP1. I do not have any other rules in my Rules window.

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Regards,

Re: error message when you create or import a rule in Outlook

The same exact thing has been plaguing me for a few years and last week I finally decided to fix it.

I followed Microsoft KB Article 886616
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=886616

In the end, the fix for me was to do the following in Outlook 2003:

    Tools|Rules and Alerts|Options

Click on the button for the Rules Upgrade
    Attached Files
    VCDX3 #34, VCDX4, VCDX5, VCAP4-DCA #14, VCAP4-DCD #35, VCAP5-DCD, VCPx4, vEXPERTx4, MCSEx3, MCSAx2, MCP, CCAx2, A+
