  • Sending problem w/IMAP & POP3

I have Outlook 2003 set up with a POP3 (default) and IMAP account. I can receive email on both correctly. When I send using the POP3 the receipient gets it thru the IMAP account. I have turned off the IMAP account on send/receive but it still follows that path. Any ideas would be helpful.

Which account is set as the default account??

Try changinf this if your IMAP account is set as default.

Check this by opening outlook, browse to the Tools menu and select EMail Accounts.

Thanks for the reply. The POP3 is set as default.

        Re: Sending problem w/IMAP & POP3

If anyone is following this thread, I was able to resolve the problem.

I backed up all PSTs, ran "reinstall Office 2003", made sure all MS updates were done, then reconfigured the Outlook profile. I set up the PO3 and IMAP accounts, created a simple routing rule and I was back in business.

This person has been connecting to various domains with multiple email configurations so anything is possible on what might have caused the mixup ... but in any case once the profile was rebuilt it was good-to-go.

Thanks for thinking this one through.
