  • Cannot connect to exchange

    I am trying to connect an outlook client to an email box of an employee who has left the company. I have reset his password and I logged into a machine with the local admin account. (this is Outlook 2010). When I setup the account with the correct server, etc. I get a message saying the name can not be resolved to the exchange server.

    If I click ok I then get a messge that the server is offline. However my email is working fine form the same server on a different computer. All machines are online and I can get to the account with no problems from webmail. Any ideas why I keep getting this error?

    What version of Exchange is it?
    Have you tried OWA using the ex-users credentials?
    Have you given the local admin permissions on the exchange account?
    Are you sure the account still exists?
