  • Desire for Outlook to NOT Remember Password

We have a customer whom indicates that he desires (in other words requires) that his system prompt for Outlook password - it's done this correctly for two years. He indicates that yesterday, he launched Outlook 2007 and it did not prompt for password and needs this resolved.

We've looked at his Outlook settings and indeed it does say to prompt/require password, but it does not ask for it. An engineer here, has opened up his Outlook 2007 and it too is doing the same. His also shows prompt/require password.

Is this for Exchange or another type of mail server?

That would help. Exchange - Hosted at a Hosted Provider.

      Their support wrote back:

      1. Close Outlook

      2. In Windows 7, open the Credentials Manager in your Control Panel. In Windows XP, from the control panel open User Accounts, then select Manage my network passwords.

      3. Remove all saved entries that have anything to do with your Exchange Server or your Domain Credentials. They would look like:
      domain\username
      owa.domainname.com
      exchange.domain.local
      MS.Outlook:

      4. Restart Outlook and enter your credentials, choosing not to save your password.

We'll see if this resolves it.
