  • Outlook 2010 unable to open links to public folders

Bit of a weird one. Users were sending hyper-links to public folders to each other within outlook messages. All opening fine in outlook 2007 sp2. I upgrade a couple of users to Outlook 2010 and the links are now not opening, Outlook is showing a security notice warning. Then prompts to choose the program to open it in, i point it off to Outlook and then it just fails. It seems all other links are running. Has anyone come across this issue with Public folders in 2010 before?

    Hi,

Initial step in fixing the hyperlinks not working issue in Microsoft Outlook 2010 is to reset the default browser in system.

It is always better to make the Internet Explorer as your default browser.

To do this, you need to open the Internet Explorer in the system and select ‘Tools’ from the menu.

Select the ‘Internet Options’ and in the Internet Options box, select the ‘Programs’ tab.

You need to then select the button labeled ‘Make Default’.

You need to then click the ‘OK’ button and get the changes saved.

The issue can thus be fixed.
