  • How to restore hidden confirm prompts in Outlook 2010?

I feel I should know this one but cannot for the life of me solve it.

A user has turned off various confirmation dialogs by ticking the "do not show this again" option when prompted. Now they want to turn them back on again

"Easy", says I, "Its somewhere in FILE--OPTIONS"

    Is it, hell.....

doesnt give a ready answer, so I'm hoping someone knows just where to look -- I presume buried in a registry setting or one of the umpteen XML files in the user profile

do you know which ones options they want re-enabled, or just "all of them"
    ?

Specifically the one that comes up when they block a sender (add it to junk mail) but I'm now curious where they all are

Ok.. I just buggerised around a bit.

        under hkcu\software\microsoft\office\14.0\outlook\prefer ences
I had a string called CtrlEnterSends with a value of 1.
I deleted this, then reopened outlook.
I hit ctrl-enter and it asked me "do you want to always use this" (or whatever) and i ticked the Yes box
It has now put this string back in there

So if you take a look in there.. you may find what you need

I've also got "ShowBcc" and some other ones I can't clearly identify like

BECDefaultButton, CNHeight, CNPosX and CNPosY etc

                  Wullie -- absolutely marvelous!

You would think that it wouldnt be beyond MS to have an options box to "reset notifications" or similar, would you?
