  • PST size

    Hi

I have XP System with Office 2003 loaded on it.

Problem is today morning i moved some few months mails from Outlook.pst(marked in red & also mail delivery set on this pst) to 09-04-2010.pst (marked in blue colour) to avoid crossing Outlook.pst file to cross 2GB size limit.

I was able to move mail successfully size of 09-04-2010.pst increased by few hundred MBs but size of Outlook.pst remained the same.(ideally size should get reduced of Outlook.pst when i have moved mails to other pst but its not happened.)

    Whats the problem??

    Re: PST size

If you go into the PST properties, you should have an option to compress it -- you will not gain space automatically when items are deleted

      Re: PST size

As Tom said it needs compressed but MS call it Compact.

All compacting does is remove the white space from the PST file.
