  • Outlook 2K, NT 4.0 domain to Active Directory

Recently my system admin migrated all Outlook users to run with Exchange 2003. Unfortunately this has had the side effect of forcing all our users to enter their user name, domain, and password every time they open Outlook 2000 from their computers. Before the migration, all the user had to do was log in to Windows using the username, password, and domain (which is stored unless changed) and when they went to Outlook, they didn't have to enter any login information. I think this is due to the fact that the Active Directory is a different domain than the one used for the windows logon, so we keep the same login name, but different password and different domain. It's a lot for our users to keep track of- we have enough different logins as it is.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a way to handle this? Was our Active Directory implemented badly? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

How was your domain migrated? Is ADC set up and running? Did he use ADMT? Did he migrate the SIDHistory of the users?
