  • How to access other user's folder while offline?(outlook2k3)

    Hi all,

I cannot find a way to synchronize a shared folder of another user,
so I could access it while I work offline in outlook 2003.

The folder does not show in send & receive settings.

Anybody know if this procedure is possible?

    Thanks,
    Amit.

    Hi,

Are you using stand alone Outlooks (eg: collecting mail from POP3) or Exhange?

If you're using stand alone Outlooks, these save info in to .PST (Personal Store) files which aren't sharable.

In Exchange you can share calendars/task lists etc quite easily.

You can still use Schedule+ (very old MS offering) apparently although I've not tried.

For sharing Outlook folders without Exchange...see something like:

    http://www.officecalendar.com/
    http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm

    Hope that helps...
    1 + 1 = 11 ... honest!

      Hi and thanks,

      I'm using Outlook 2003 connected to Exchange 2003 SP1.

I guess my problem was not explaint so well:

The calendar folder is already shared properly and works fine while working Online.

The problem accurs while working Offline: using the OST file. (Offline folder file).

The shared folder is not synchronized in the OST file, and for that reason this folder is not available in Offline state.

What folder it is not sync?

Did you check the offline settings on Outlook of the client?
You are having this problem only with one client right?

          This is not a malfunction...

the shared directory is the calnedar of a boss.

It is accessed by his employee,

and when this employee works offline she can't access this shared calendar because it is not synced in the OST.
