  • New Folder Under Inbox Appears SHARED, why?

XP Pro, SP3 and patched to the hilt (up to date)
Outlook 2007, SP1 and also up to date.

I have numerous folders that I have created under the Inbox for message management. I have just created a new one and to get it up close to Inbox I used an exclamation mark in the folder name and it is named !Schools .

When I clicked on the new folder the little SHARE symbol (open face up palm with the blue coloured sleeve) appeared under the folder name. I have compared the Permissions and Properties to a 'normal" folder and can see no difference and it doesn't show up as a SHARE. If I put a space between the exclamation mark and the name ! Schools the SHARE symbol doesn't appear.

Anyone have any idea why this happened. I haven't found any results on because I don't seem to get the search phrase right.
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Is it inheriting permissions from the inbox folder?
    Can anyone actually see it?

Do any other folders starting "!S" show as shared?
        cheers

No, except the folder just above this one, ! Test now shows as a SHARED one as well. Note that this one has a space between the exclamation mark and the T.

There are no adverse effects because of this and it really doesn't seem important. Just posted on the off chance that somebody knew why this happened. It may even be a bug, who knows.
