  • Automatic Email Response

    Hello,

Is there a feature in Exchange 2003 that will automatically send an email response if a message is send to a specific email adres?
Like, we have received your email and we will contact you as soon as possible if you send an email to an [email protected] adres?

    Thanks

I don't think you can do this easily using the built-in functions of Exchange.

Its very simple using a 3rd party tool such as GFI Mail Essentials. Its alot more than an auto responser though so it may be more than you need.

You can also create an auto response within Outlook but will need to allow this in the Exchange System Manager (its disabled by default).

You should consider another alternative to using Outlook to auto respond (aka out of office message) because you may create an autoreply loop - you auto reply, someone else autoreplies - back and forth etc. Here's some articles on how to set it up if you're interested.
