  • Outlook 2003 Colors for specific senders

Hello, with Outlook 2003, there is the possibility to set colors for specific senders. Our CEO wants to have a specific colorsheme rolled out on all computers in our company (~100 win xp / office 2003 pcs so manually is not an option). Does anyone know, where this information is stored? I tried regmon, but as iīm not very familiar with it i couldnīt find the registry key (just guessing itīs stored in the registry). Any hints would be nice. Thanks

First, your CEO is a nutjob. Second, what does he want the colours to do? With 100 users it is going to be kinfa hard remembering what colour is associated with what person. Might be easier looking at the FROM part of the email.
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

I don't have a suggestion for you but this is the reason everyone in the "C" suite should keep out of the IT department.

Outlook 2007 has color based tags.

Other than that, show him GMail

          Hi,

even if thereīs no solution i just want to say, that i should not give every sender a specific color, only four for specific senders like blue for marketing department, red for accounting and so on.

so no one has a clue where this information is stored?

          Greetings

If you can do the colour coding with rules, you have the ability to export and import them:

              Hi,

i donīt know a way to do this with rules, and as far as i know, if i import
rules, donīt they overwrite all existing rules?

              Greetings

I think you may be right about overwriting rules....
I suspect to do the colour coding you want something like
                Check message when it arrives
                From Distribution List
                Flag with Coloured Flag

Remember outlook 2003 colour coding only applies to calendars
