  • How do I mass remove a POP account from all users?

I have been migrating users from one email system/server to Exchange. I had them set up with an Exchange account and a POP account for internal mail. Now that I am finished, i need to remove that old POP account from about 300 users. how can I do this in one big swoop? Batch file? Some sort of script? Please help and thanks in advance.

    In Outlook or Outlook Express?
How is it setup. If it is Outlook you could use the resource kit and force a new profile on them through a GPO for example.

      Outlook 2002 and 2003.

Please explain a little further about the resource kit and GPO. I am a noob at Exchange.

      Thanks, man.

Might be worth having a quick read here:
        http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/or...379911033.aspx

You can force each Outlook user to have a "new" profile so they no longer see the settings for POP3 etc.

Thanks, bud...I will have a look see.

          EDIT:

Doesn't seem to help me much. All users are running an Exchange account and then an additional POP3 account. i need to remove that POP3 account. I don't want to have to do it one by one for all users.

Is the POP3 account part of the same Outlook profile though?
I.E. They log on and open Outlook, it connects to Exchange and they see their mailbox etc. They can also click send/receive and get their POP3 email into the same mailbox?
The profile tool works just like opening the Mail icon in the control panel and creating a new profile, give that a go. If it creates a new one that is "clean" then the tool can do the same but be applied via GPO.
            cheers

Yes to your question. Would the tool allow me to do this for all users at one time though?
