  • RPC over HTTP(S) Outlook 2007 keeps prompting for password

    Hello there,

    Ok so i have a problem for quite some time now. I shall describe the situation in depth:

    - MS Exchange 2003 fully updated, latest SP;
    - MS Windows Server 2003 ENT;

    - Outlook 2007 for the client;

    Everything is fine, but when i use Outlook to connect to my exchange server to look at my e-mail i have to fill in the password, every time i start outlook.
    Cause i think this is very annoying, i want to change this. So my question is, is there an option to change this so that i could say remember my password in outlook and i really does remember it

    If you should need more information, just say so, i'll provide it. Thank you for your time.

    Once you have configured for RPC over HTTPS you lose the option to save login credentials. I guess you could look for a reghack to see if you could to get the option back but personally I think being able to save the credentials would be a huge security risk. Anyone with access to your machine then has access to your email.

      If the machine is a member of the domain, then set the authentication to NTLM and you will not be prompted. You also need to ensure that integrated authentication is enabled on the virtual directory. However if you cannot use NTLM or the machine is not a member of the domain then you will have to live with the prompt because Outlook needs to authenticate with something.

        And failing any of the correct procedure's listed before

        Do a search for "OutlookAutologin" it will do what you want...

        But as with any software especially password keeping type, use it at your own risk
