  • Users able to access calendars without the permissions to

    This is weird..

I have inherited a server running exchange 2003. Which some very odd permissions set.

First off Authenticated users was an inherited permission within mailbox rights with full mailbox access. I have removed this and it has solved the problem of people having access to inbox's etc.

However it appears that people can still access each others calendars. I have double checked the permissions within outlook and nobody else has access.

Where should I be looking to check permissions like this?

Check the permissions in Outlook, and also the delegates tab in Outlook.

See if the users aren't added in the Exchange Domain Servers or Exchange Ent Servers groups in the USERS container. I saw this happen a few times, seems that some admins thought that this is the right way to grant permissions to some users...
