  • Outlook 2003 Tries To Send 371 Messages

For months now every time I log into Outlook and send and receive it sends my email messages. But it will sit there and try to send 371 non-existinent messages, which it displays in the details section. They never get sent because there are nonre.

Its weird but also on my main XP login page when I boot up under my name and where you input your password it show that I have 171 unread messages.

How do I clear these items from the system?

Re: Outlook 2003 Tries To Send 371 Messages

Here are stepes for you to clear the unread messages

    1) lunch REGEDIT

    2) find the below key and beware that there are more than 1 subkeys
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\UnreadMail.

    3) find the "Message Count" right click the key and set the data to 0

    4) Once you finish that find the key: MessageExpiryDays. If you don't find it (if no one done this steps before you,you probably won't find it),
choose Edit | New | DWORD Value from the menu, name the new value MessageExpiryDays. Set this value's data to 0.

PS: You have to do it for each user account

    1) open REGEDIT find the below key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion

    2) find : UnreadMail.
If you don't see it, go to Edit | New | Key to create it. Open the Unread-Mail key and find or create the MessageExpiry-Days value as before. Set its data to 0.

PS: You do not have to do that for each user, once is Ok

    It should fiz both issues,
