  • Upgrade outlook 2000 to 2003 - Help!

    Hi,

I have a new office 2003 disc that I was going to install but I'm worried about losing all my emails that are currently stored in outlook (i currently have office 2000 on my computer).

Is there any way I can safeguard / back up my emails so that I don't lose them all when I uninstall outlook 2000 and put on 2003?

    Thanks in advance

Start outlook and then under the "file" menu choose "import and export" - "export to a file" create a .pst file and the choose what you want to export and where you want to save it.

By default there is a .pst file in the dokuments and settings directory that you can take a copy of, I think itīs hidden so you have to check the option to show hidden files. The easiest way to find it is to use the search option and enter *.pst

But there shouldn't be any problems upgrading, I've done it several times and it has worked OK. The install wizard should recognise that there is an older version and sugest an upgrade.

OK, I'll have a go at that.

      Thanks for your help.
