  • Outlook unable to recover deleted folder due to permissions.

I have a user who has (as usual) 'accidentally' deleted really important emails. The Deleted Items recovery console will not allow her to recover them though, throwing up an error saying she doesn't have permissions. I can't see why though as its a personal folder in her own mailbox, using the same Active Directory profile as her Windows login, its not shared. I thought that maybe its because shes not the owner of the folder, as with recovering deleted public folders, but I can't permission her as an owner on the folder if the folder won't recover in the first place. I'm totally vexed. Any ideas guys

And the version of outlook is?
    Is Exchange server used?
    if so, which version?
if not, what mail server is used?

Otherwise its out with the crystal ball (s up)

Hi Ossian, thanks for your reply!
The user is running Outlook 2003 and the mailbox is stored on a Microsoft 2003 Exchange server. Any suggestions would be useful. I'm stumped!
