  • Lync 2010 Normalization Rule

Fore readability numbers in AD are stored as

    +44 (0) 123 456 7890

Lync strips the ellipsis but the 0 remains

    How can i setup a normalization/translation rule to take +44 (0) 123 456 7890 and convert it to +441234567890

    Thanks in advance

You should use the normalization text file so Lync knows how to handle numbers that aren't E.164 compliant in AD. But that will require you adding the appropriate regex in the text file. Or correct the number in AD so its normalized correctly.

      Re: Lync 2010 Normalization Rule

      Hi,
Thank you and apologies for not thanking you before (I thought I had)

Creating the normalization rule works however it's created a slightly bigger issue!!

The lync contact card is now displaying duplicate entries but in different formats

      e.g

      mobile entry

      07999999999

      mobile entry

      +44(0)7999 999999

I've checked in AD and there is only one entry, I've checked in outlook for contacts and there are none.

updated both database and address book
deleted the two gal entries under app data on the machine
      tried another machine

All of which have not resolve the issue. I currently have a PSS call open with MS but they're very slow to respond/don't know how to fix the issue.

      Any thoughts anyone?

      Thanks,
