  • BCC field in Exchange 2013 OWA

    Hi all,
thought this would be an easy one but no one seems to know the answer, not even google.
Basically we have some users who only do their emailing from OWA, but they need the BCC function as they send out lots of tender info to suppliers.
Now, i'm not sure if there is a definitive difference between the OWA (outlook web access) that i know and use with Exchange 2013 and OWA (Outlook Web Apps) that others seem to be talking about.
But the only answers i'm getting from people seems to be regarding office 365, and the options button.
But that button isn't present in our OWA window, using IE11 or Chrome.

In fact i can't see any settings buttons whatsoever on my OWA, so is it something that needs to be set on the Exchange server?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Hi, I've just tested this out of curiosity. I've attached a pic. Do you see those options?

      Thanks for the reply.
I have all the tabs with the exception of the ... (options) tab after the APPS tab.
God knows why. Maybe I should nip up to the bedroom and ask her

I see those options in IE11 and Firefox. I checked and IE's not in compatibility mode either.
        Could this be the reason.

          Thanks buddy,
the first link was how out OWA used to look, but wasn't much use after that.

          The 2nd link.....SPOT ON GUV'NOR!

Currently downloading the CU patch to install into our Exchange 2103.
          Lets hope this resolces it.

Many many thanks for your help on this.

            Ok, i put a hex on that didn't I?

I downloaded KB2892464. Prior to installing i searched in my insalled programs for it and it found nothing.
Yet, when i tried installing it said it was already installed.

            so.....wtf? Back to square one?

Re: BCC field in Exchange 2013 OWA

Our IT support have come up with the following band aid until they find a reason why the premium version of OWA isn't running.

              from exchange powershell:
              Set-MailboxMessageConfiguration username -AlwaysShowBcc $true
              Works for now....

KB2892464 is CU3. It should be shown in add/remove programs with that name, not the KB article.
If you were installing anything it should be CU7 or CU8. If you aren't on that version already, then you need to upgrade.

Installing the cumulative updates effectively reinstalls the product, so will often correct a lot of these issues.

Chrome doesn't work properly with OWA at present.

                Simon.

Blimey! didn't realise it was up to CU8 already.
I'll go looking for that and see what happens.

                  Thanks.
