  • RPC over http for remote users (no VPN)

My client is running Exchange 2010 - we have a number of external members who wish to use outlook Anywhere (they don't like OWA) .
They do not connect to HQ except for email (i.e.no VPN) Is it possible to set up Outlook for these Users by only using RPC over HTTP? or do we have to setup a VPN - connect to exchange to set the profile in outlook, then configure rpc/http and finally disconnect the VPN??

Re: RPC over http for remote users (no VPN)

As long as autodiscover is set up (and with work, even if it isn't) there is no need for a VPN at all - evrythng can be done using OutlookAnywhere (the new name for RPC over HTTPS)
