    hello for every body
    I have dc and one single exchange server 2010 with mailbox role and cas +hub
    on server dell t110 II I want to replace it by hp dl 380 g9
    I have full backup with windows backup
    how I can restore exchange 2010 from this dell T110 to hp dl 380 g9
    steps please like 1 2 3 after install windows server 2008

    You would be better adding the new server, installing Exchange and then gracefully moving mailboxes and connectors to the new box.

    Doing a restore should be a last resort if the original server has crashed

    Lots of instructions on this sort of migration on line with a little bit of magic

      unless your backup software specifically supports restoring to separate hardware, this won't work.

      the T110 has vastly different hardware to a Gen 9 HP machine.
      Even just RAID controllers as a starting point.

      as already pointed out,

      1. install new software on new server
      2. perform migration/move mailboxes and other related as per relevant online documentation.
      3. safely remove Exchange from the old server.
      4. safely demote the old server if neccesary.

      Note - if you are running Exchange and DC on the one server, this could be a bit more interesting.
