  • Internal spam

Two AD's, win serv 12, one exchange server (win serv 12, exchange 2013).

all is working just fine, but I'm getting way too much spam from my own domain.

I do have a Spam filter (Trend Micro) but the problem isn't that spam is getting passed the filter, the problem is within in exchange server itself.

Exchange server is up to date even installed CU6 the other day. All my filters are on and working.

    here are just some examples:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]

and the list goes on and on.

    what can I do....

      Re: Internal spam

You need to review the configuration of your Receive connectors and the IPs permitted to relay through and possibly lockdown. You could also enable verbose logging on the Receive connectors to see if you can find an internal IP that is spamming.

have you considered creating "transport rules" for your environment?

it would require you to create some filters and text files of words and phrases (that can be downloaded from a number of whitelist/blacklist providers) to filter these troubling emails...
its easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

I would hazard a guess that someone internal has a virus, if indeed this is where the messages are coming from.
