  • outlook to exchange

    Hi
I have installed exchange 2013 on standalone 2008 R2 server without any error, but when I try to connect from client computer with win8, to my mailbox I got the following error:
"Cannot start Microsoft outlook .cannot open the outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost)"
I exported cert from my exchange and imported into my client computer but I got the same error

I tried to setup my outlook client automatically but I received the following error.
"the security certficate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust..."
I have googelled a lot! But I could not find any solution to resolve the error.
    More information:
    OWA works fine
Outlook from local 2008R2 server works fine
I cannot connect using thunderbird either.
My server is at private network.
This server is installed in small company and I cannot buy or get cert from a well known Cert Company

    Re: outlook to exchange

if you cannot buy a full certificate, then you need to create a self-signed certificate locally.
then you need to use gorup policy to ensure that certificate is trusted on all your domain devices.
