  • Exchange 2010 Trial, ...Activesync license?

    Hello,

I have installed a Exchange 2010 Evaluation, until Novermber, because I want to learn Exchange, and it goes fine, but I was wanting to implement ActiveSync in my Android mobile .

I read I need to purchase a license. Is this so? , Is there no any way to get this around?, at least during the Evaluation period?

    Thanks in advance!

Exchange licensing is on an "honour" (or "honor" for our transatlantic cousins ) basis, so no actual licenses are installed (unlike e.g. RDS).

With my usual disclaimer about MS licensing, I have always assumed that you can use Exchange freely (different clients etc) within the trial period, but must then either remove it or license it

      Thanks Ossian.

Yes, you can use it freely: OWA, Outlook anywhere... but I think I cannot do so with ActiveSync.

AFAIK there is nothing to stop you, and I have never heard about any problems using activesync in the trial environment - certainly training courses (e.g. 10135) make use of the activesync device simulator
