  • Anyone impacted by the Exchange Online outage this week?

    Has anyone been impacted by the Exchange Online outage this week, or know of someone that has? We've written a post or two about the outage on the main Petri site here:

    A 'Colleague' of mine -in Redmond- and i were mid IM as he was affected by the Lync Online outage. His service was out for around 6 hours. My tenant in Europe wasn't affected though.

    The outage doesn't bode well for MSFT's reputation as their betting the house on O365. But ultimately outages happen in IT irrespective of whether the service is OnPrem or in the Cloud.

    I think what will be bothersome for many is the duration of the outage which may have breached SLA. For a service as large and scaled as O365 id expect their to be a lot of redundancy within the architecture.

      It seems that part of the frustration was that service health dashboards that were supposed to clue admins into the problem weren't working properly, at least according to a post by Mary Jo Foley:

        Reading between the lines there seem to have been a slew of apparent unconnected incidents which i find a bit difficult to belive. Either way MS need a robust/mature notification system. There's an 'Official' explanation for the outage from O365 Engineering here:-
