  • Exchange 2010 internal mail relay not working

    Hi ,
Recently we having this issues whereby the internal users is not receiving the daily report from the unix application but the external domain users get it with no issues. So it is strange that external domain mail address get delivered but not local domain internal email. Any idea why this happens?

Should be the other way round, because internal users are not "relaying".

I would check message tracking to begin with. See whether Exchange is discarding the message. I have seen this happen with the spam filters getting in the way.

      Hi Sembee,
      thanks for your kind reply,
i did try message tracking from tools option in 2010. But it couldnt locate the emails at all.
We are using one of the ditribution group email address as sender to send out the daily report from the solaris application.

If the message doesn't appear in message tracking then it wasn't received by Exchange or was rejected at the point of delivery.

Enabling logging on the Receive Connectors is the next thing to try to see if you can catch the error.
