  • NT Authrouty Authentication Error

I am looking at an Exchange 2010 server and just realised that everyone has access to everybody else's mailbox. Every user under Manage Full Access Permission contains:

    DOMAIN\Exchange Servers
    DOMAIN\Exchange Trusted Subsystem
    NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users
    NT AUTHORITY\SELF
    NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

If I remove nt authority\authenticated users from a user then that user can no longer access their mailbox.

    Any ideas?

"Manage Full Access" does NOT give permissions to the mailbox itself. Only two permissions do, Full Mailbox Access and Receive As.

You need to look elsewhere for the permission issue. Look at what groups have Full Mailbox Access in EMC, also look in ADUC for groups that have the Receive As permission.

You will probably find that "Everyone" has been added to another group, which is giving the permission.
