  • Office Web Apps Server 2013 and external publishing

    Hey all

Do I need to externally publish an Office Web Apps Server URL to enable users of Outlook Web Access outside of the business to render documents in emails? We currently publish Outlook Web Access 2010 using Forefront UAG; if the answer to my first question is Yes, then should I use UAG to also publish the external URL for Webs Apps Server?

External publishing suggests that when a document is previewed in Outlook web access, a call from the external client/public computer is made directly to the Office Web Apps server rather than Exchange 2013 making the internal call. In which case, the URL would need a 3rd party cert rather than a self-sign.

    Really appreciate some help,

    Many thanks,

    Joe

yes, you will need to publish it via UAG (as you are using it) secondly you will need a 3rd party certificate as well.
