  • Exchange Server 2007 to Exchange Server 2013

    Hello Everyone

I am using Exchange Server 2007 SP2. I want to transition to exchange server 2013.
My exchange server is also an Additional Domain Controller.
I have one new physical server. currently my exchange server is mail.mydomain.com
how do i come up with same name mail.mydomain.com
Do i need to remove active directory to come up with same hostname or
can i remove active directory after the transition.
I am confused and please do guide me and provide me screenshots.

    2. How to i redirect from http to https
when my users on owa they have an habbit of typing mail.mydomain.com and i have redirected to https in IIS.
how do i do this in exchange 2013.

Re: Exchange Server 2007 to Exchange Server 2013

You simply need to do an upgrade to Exchange 2013 and AD name and URLs you use for Exchange do not necessarily have to be the same but you use the same by ensuring that you have split-DNS and pointing DNS Host (A) records to the relevant Exchange 2013 servers.

Exchange 2013 still has IIS, so suspect you redirect using the same method.
