  • Exchange behind NAT

    Hi everybody

Is there a possibility for Exchange servers to dialogue with outlook clients behind a nat network like adsl box ?

    Regards

Why not? I imaging most Exchange servers are behind NAT. Forward the appropriate ports from your router to your Exchange server.

It isn't recommended to have a firewall/port forwarding router between Exchange and the clients for TCP/MAPI traffic. However Outlook Anywhere, over port 443 works fine and that is what I would suggest that you use.

Trying to get TCP/MAPI to work over the internet is never going to work and is a security risk because of the amount of holes in the firewall you need. That includes 135 which is a major no-no from a security point of view.
