  • exchange 2007 block unautorized user from sending out email

a few days a go I found out that someone with a Gmail address rely email from our exchange server. as far as I know exchange 2k7 do not allow such a thing and this user or spammer should not be able to rely messages out. How can I change the setting that only my domain users will be able to send email out and no one else ?

    Thank you

The default configuration of Exchange is to not allow relaying.
The most likely cause is that you have a compromised account, because if you were an open relay your server would be abused.
Authenticated relaying is not enabled by default on port 25 - so you need to check he settings on your Receive Connectors carefully.

Also look through the logs on the server to see if an account is being abused - if it is, then the user needs to have their password reset.

The Administrator account is the usual one targeted.
