  • email size per period

    Hello everybody,

one of our customers has a very specific proposal. He wants to know the amount of received/sent emails (in MB/GB) per month. For every mailbox.

    He runs Exchange 2007.

Is it possible to get that specific information anyhow ?

"It can not be done" is a fine answer as well. I just want to know

You can have a powershell script parse the message tracking logs.... Run it monthly.

Use the Get-MessageTrackingLog cmdlet and run it for Sent and Receive event types.

Might be an easier way though.

Alternatively, how about reporting on folder sizes each month (e.g. http://exchangeserverpro.com/reporti...th-powershell/) and then a little Excel to work out the change from the previous run

Of course, that assumes all sent email goes into sent items and all incoming into other folders

For Exchange 2007 you could still use the Exchange Profile Analyzer.
