  • Multiple Send Connectors (Exch 2007)

    Hi All

I wonder if anyone can help?

I have a pretty standard Exchange 2007 environment (2 mailbox servers / 2 Hub transport servers) that route the SMTP address space * to our main smart host. We have about 15 domain names and I need to route one specific domain (for business testing / compliance reasons - long story!) to another unique smarthost.

For clarity I have send connectors are follows:

Internet - Address space * > Smart host IP a.b.c.d
Testing - Address space XYZ.com > Smart host IP w.x.y.z

I have tried creating the above 2 send connectors but the one for the specific domain (for example XYZ.com) always routes via the main send connector configured as address space * (Internet)

We have Exchange 2007 - Service Pack 3.

    What am I dong wrong?

    thanks in advance.

You are doing nothing wrong - Exchange cannot do sender based routing.
It is only interested in the recipient.

To do sender based routing you have to use a third party tool.

This is the only solution I know of for Exchange 2007.

      Hey Simon

Thank you for the reply and the link.

      I'll investigate that further.

      Cheers

Simon - just a thought - do you know if Exchange 2013 now offers this as a new feature?

No. It isn't available in Exchange 2013.

          Smon.
