  • Removing Second Exchange 2010

    Hello,

    I have two Exchange 2010 servers All-in-One.

I have migrated all mailboxes from one to the second.

I have replicate all Public Folders to the second.

    Problems:
    1. Outlooks still see in the server to connect the first server instead of the second, but if I am creating the profile from screech it is pointing to the second (but I don't want to do that for all users).
When server is down all Outlooks client are not connecting.

    2. Somehow email that are coming to Mail enable public folder are coming thru the firs server public folder (when I am dismounting first server public folder all mails are staying in first server queue).

    3. When removing first server from send connector all mails are stack in queue of the first server (all mails are routing somehow thru the first server).

I appreciate your helping in one or all my issues.
    Thanks in advanced,
    Tal

    1. Yes - that is what happens. The CAS role is independant of the Mailbox role.
    You have two options.
    a. Configure an RPC CAS Array address on the databases, then visit every machine to "repair" the profile.
    b. Remove Exchange from that server completely, and then cross your fingers that Autodiscover does its thing.

Neither solution is very good, but that is all that is possible.

    2. Check the correct public folder database is marked on the mailbox database.
Run get-publicfolderstatistics on the old server and confirm it is empty. If not then you need to use the move all replicas script (in the scripts directory of the Exchange install) to move everything.

    3. Check the bridgehead on your Send Connector.

Mixed up my terms - bridgehead is Exchange 2003's name for it. It is source server.
